Where was I all weekend?

I was at my dad's cabin, one of my favorite places in the world, and also one of my best places for writing. Our cabin has beautiful views out every window and a serene and peaceful atmosphere. It also has several great spots to set up and work on my latest novel...

This is my favorite:

This is the desk my dad built up in the loft of the cabin, and I have spent many happy and productive hours working at this desk. You have to kind of crawl into place in that chair, because most grown adults can't stand up straight in the loft, but once you're there, it's a very comfortable spot.

The weather was so nice this weekend, I actually did most of my work sitting out on the screen porch - but that's much less photogenic.

I dearly love to see other people's work spaces. Do you have a picture of your desk on-line? Post and link in the comments and let everyone see.

Very cool workplace, Elle.

Re: my workplace: Here's a video I made of me "working in my bathrobe."

Very cool work space and clean..

My work space in a working order of chaos... if it's neat i will be lost, spill a few paper clips and am good to go.

One thing I can't word without though is an industrial size calendar...

Wow, your Dad's got some carpentry skills, huh? Hey, where--generally--is your hide away?

Sadly, I have no desk...but,we're working on it. (getting the desk, that is...not, working on the desk. Sigh. Why is this writing stuff so hard.)

Best, Galen

EH, I need a good calendar too

Galen - Our cabin is up in Northern Wisconsin, and it's just a wonderful place to be

Karen - Laptops are just amazing for freedom in writing

Alexis - I'm looking forward to that!

My desk is cluttered with books, papers, and I'm sure there's a coffee cup or two in there somewhere. I tried cleaning it once. Couldn't think of a thing to write.

I looked around my workspace after I read your post and decided I'd best tidy up before taking any pictures. Like that's ever going to happen...

LOL, my bed is my work place, so sorry I can't show you all the girly bedsheet and untidy clothes.

Love the photo of your workspace. I too work under the eaves in my upstairs office, with a similar slant to the roof right ovr the computer. There's a beautiful picture window to my left where I can glimpse the lake through the maple trees, and a perfect breeze is blowing in right now, tempting me out to garden.

Two major problems - it gets unbearably hot in summer, and the space does double duty as my cats' bedroom. I desperately need a laptop.
